Re: Adrenalin and Gore
Adrenaline is an amine, similar to many other materials in metabolism in that it contains a beta-phenethylamine group, as in L-Dopa, phenylalanine, tryptophan, tryptamine, ergot alkaloids. etc.
In times of stress, the systems of mammals that manufacture their own vitamin C ramp up vitamin C production on the order of 20-fold, essentially instantly, to counteract and destroy adrenaline.
Vitamin C does this via de-amination of adrenalin, rendering it ineffective.
In some mammals including most people whose bodies don't manuf. their own vit. C and who get very little from their diet, do not de-aminate the adrenaline, and as a result it lingers, in its amino form, contrary to how it should in the mammalian system, enabling formation of amine oxides and other species.
This is the flaw in humans that caused severe shortening in their lifespan, from on the order of 950 years in the time of Adam, to only about 120 years at present for those who otherwise eat correctly.
This is why people often "get" cancer after times of stress.
