Re: Vegetarian Diet Can Leave Nutritional Holes
Yes Tony,
I didn't want to start a vegetarian debate either, not that you would probably allow one, which is why I replied to LuellaMays article in your own forum, rather than the Breaking News Forum where the article was also posted. I know you do not stand for any nonsense, and rightly so.
However, after reading the article for the first time, the ideas within it lingered and "nagged at me" to say something and.....voila.
I know some distinctly unhealthy vegetarians who think that just giving up meat will make them healthy, and then proceed to have several candy bars for lunch!!!etc etc.
I understood your reasons for posting and of course totally respect those reasons.
You are right of course re' even the longest lived peoples on Earth who ate SOME meat: the Hunzas are a prime example.
I recall that Mercola recommends eating for your "metabolic type" (whatever that means) and I am myself what the article described as a "lacto-ovo-vegetarian" or Omnivore or whatever label one can place on it..........some white organic meat such as chicken, coldwater and oily fish, with some free-range eggs included in my diet, but for the most part 95% of it is plant and seed-based, just like the Hunzas.
This may seem contradictory to some of the information within my previous post, but there are reasons for this which I will not enter into, as this is not a debate forum.
By doing this I hope to be still posting on your forum as a Centenarian!!!
Interesting website.......
