Re: Please help, intense emotional issues

Of the many levels, including the deeper spiritual levels, of health includes the physical part. I do not know if my experience with similar symptoms is related to your situation but here it is in case it's of any use:

My symptoms turned out to physically due to not absorbing most nutrients, which led a whole array of unpleasant sensations and behaviors. Until the malabsorption was diagnosed, I attributed the symptoms to all kinds of things, and thought I could fix things by thinking differently, too, plus tried all manner of alternative things. Of course trying to hammer a nail with a feather duster didn't work.

First off, I was always hungry but had been so for so long that I didn't realize it. I had a hard time realizing when I was full, because nutrient-wise, I wasn't satisfied, so I'd be full but still ravenous. I ate so much that I should have been a lot heavier than I was; hubby, at over 6 feet, ate less than I eventually.

The basic building blocks to everything were low or missing, so most body stuff didn't work right. Let's start with emotions: the components the body uses to make neurotransmitters were in short supply, so there went all the feel-good stuff like seratonin (so anxiety was constant, dreams were only nightmares, depression was always there). Then there is the endocrine system that helps us cope, too. Not working right (adrenals were blasted from chronic illness, thyroid was also low), it and I couldn't deal with anything much, leading to a tendency to avoid people. I knew I was overreacting but nothing stopped it until I replenished my body.

The best help for me on neurotransmitters has been Julia Ross' The Mood Cure (she has a website, too). She can turn someone's emotions around within even 24 hours, she's so skilled. I did find the body responded quickly. There are lots of sites for adrenal fatigue, replacement doses of iodine for thyroid, etc.

More missing nutrients affected the nervous system itself, making it frayed. And easy one to check is B1, due to the fact that replenishing it is very quickly noticeable and that it has no known toxicity (so taking lots extra won't be a problem if there is no deficiency). The replacement dose is 500mg/day for 5 days, then 200-300mg/day, along with a B complex. Then there is B12 which is a big part of nervous system repair. Then there is glutathione -- I've been using reduced glutathione topically (the body just breaks it down in order to absorb it), mixing a capsule with some aloe or water. It helps a number of things, including pain. The list of nutrients goes on.

The type of malabsorption that I have is celiac sprue, so for that "nail", the hammer I needed was to avoid all gluten scrupulously. Celiac tends to cause a feeling of separation from others, noted by many with the problem. That seems to be at least in part from the mineral loss. Low minerals can cause a whole array of difficulties.

For me to find the physical root of my problems was a path out of the misery it led to. I'm not saying that working on the other levels was not important, and certainly the spiritual part for me helped me find the open doors, but until I quit eating gluten, nothing would really work.

I do hope you can find what your body and spirit need,
