I have to totally agree with this. My doc swore up and down I would get no side effects from it. Then I called her last week and told her everything I was experiencing over the 2 years and then told her about this site I found, and I made sure I told her I find it very hard to believe all these women who had this thing are lying about their symptoms! She passed it off as well people exagerate, don't believe what you read on internet and what people don't tell you is maybe they feel better because they were switched to something with estrogen in it, maybe that is what their body needs etc.. she didn't want to believe it could be Mirena doing any of this. Now the funny thing is I spoke to a nurse on the phone and she said some people do complain of problems mostly crampiness and irregular bleeding so they get it out. So even my doc and a nurse had conflicting stories. I decided to get it out and feel so much relief! I was just told today that the progestrone that is in the IUD is the same that they give you with the Depo shot. And I know that shot makes some people gain crazy amount of weight..like 100 pounds sometimes...how sexy..yeah right! So that explains the weight gain with this IUD just at a slower rate then the shot, because it's lower dose spread over longer period thru uterus, instead of injection in the arm. This was all just explained to me today when I was getting mine out. Hope this helps, and I hope you get yours out and find another method.
