Re: My symptoms story, short version.

CFS/ME is a complex issue. You sort of have to take a multiple therapy approach to the whole thing.

But there always seems to be 2 underlying factors, toxins (metals, environmental) and infections.

What are they doing with the metal issue? You mention that you tested in the 70 percentile on metals... which metals? Did they put you on a proper detox program? Metals create absolute hell in the body and I don't think you will make a proper recovery without getting those out. Mercury is very bad, interfering with neurotransmitter responses, so that would explain some of the issues with neurotransmitters. Selenium status should be considered as well. Selenium aids in glutathione production, helps in immune system strength and will aid in the removal of heavy metals. As always, be careful in supplementation, as selenium can become toxic as well. Doing a TMA (tissue mineral analysis) can aid you in this.

Mercury will shut off your detox channels for sure as well as the immune responses. Mercury attacks the cysteine/taurine/methionine group of amino acids which is not good. I would go back to your amino acid usage and consider getting a proper test of AA such as Metametrix. Plasma seems to be more accurate than urine. I would also consider doing cysteine or NAC along with methionine and taurine w/ vitamin B co=factors. Liquid glutathione (Readisorb) could be a good protocol as well. If you use Glutathione, make sure it is not in tablet form - outside of doing IV, Readisorb is the best. Start very slowly with this product and move up. It will aid in detoxification and immune system. but the detox from it may feed some of the infections, so go slowly.

Chemical sensitivies are created by a blocked liver. And of course the liver is going to be overworked when you are dealing with these problems. Pharmaceuticals, environmental toxins, mercury, also the liver must remove the oxidation caused by immune system activation, which you no doubt have. Also converts many enzymes and endocrine factors. Doing a approach with the AA's is very good, and you could add a herbal cleanse with this. If you want to be serious, then adding poly phosphatidylchline is very good. See PhosChol.com.

Have you had your Vitamin D3 levels checked? VD3 is critical for immune system health - google that .... Did they check your magnesium status, copper, zinc, etc.?
Wouldn't be surprised that you have some imbalance in those essential minerals. See traceelements.com.

Losing muscle mass would be indicative of improper protein intake and/or vitamin B12 /folic acid. Try some methylcobalamin (b12) with some folic acid and see if that raises your energy level, muscle mass and neurotransmitters

Did they check for CMV? It is quite nasty, more so than EBV.

Did you do any stool tests for parasites? A parasite infection could be the root of the immune system problems. Abdominal distention, bloated, joint pain, brain fog would all spell out a parasite infection.

Nervous system problems could be related to heavy metals, low magnesium, high or low copper, high or low zinc etc. Use of copious Vitamin C and B vits will help renew your nervous system. Worn out adrenals from immune system activation and metals will also cause nervous system weakness.
