Re: Need Advice / Opinions! Embarking on Candida Treatment...

Don't have a lot of time right now, so everything will be point form, hope that's ok.

I took Nilstat for 10 years. My dad for 15 years. It's a good short term fix to the Candida problem. Imo, it's a bad fix for the long term because it's a DRUG. Drugs punish the body and your liver will pay the price for years of use. Mine did. Also, eventually the Candida get immune and you'll have to switch (temporarily) to a more powerful drug, which will have it's own side effects (my dad did this). Just a warning! You should do fine for quite some time if you don't eat things that aggravate Candida.

>>1. The "debate" with including ACV in diet: I only use Bragg's right now.

Have no idea. I take Bragg's ACV right now though in my salads. But then again, I beat Candida and was mostly fruitarian for 6 months. If it's ok with you, I say continue!

>>2. Best FIBER supplement to take and / or FIBER game plan so that I don't get backed up when expelling toxins.

I'd say don't worry about it. So you'll feel sick and tired for 3 days in the first week. Eventually you get over it.

If you really need something I'd take psyllium and Bentonite (health food store). The best is Humaworms's Colon Cleanse product.

>> 3. Will I PHYSICALLY SEE the yeast LEAVING MY BODY in the all lovely toilet?

Some people do, some people don't. Getting sick and tired after taking Nilstat will prove or disprove that yeast is a problem for you.

Personally, I didn't, but then again that was before I started actively checking my stools like I do now.

>>4. How can avoid FURTHER BURDEN on my already taxed LIVER, so as not to get REALLY SICK?

That is the million dollar question.

If you can wade through it, my protocol for getting better is here. Sorry it's a little rough still.

>>5. I prefer a Vegetarian diet--meat CONSTIPATES ME, but am so confused as to the conflicting info concerning BEANS...any advice?

Beans (legumes) are great, I wouldn't remove them. Can't imagine anything better than lentils for peopel with Candida.

>>6. Should I AlTERNATE Nystatin with say, Caprylic Acid, so that the yeast do not get accustomed to one?

Haha, I've read that some people alternate anti-fungals every week. What a joke. Like I said, I took Nilstat for 9 years, my father for 15 years, it becomes immune only after several years 6+. You then alternate to something else for 3-4 months and then you could go back if so desired.

I found mono anti-fungal treatments like Cap acid to be useless, especially compared to Nilstat.

Again, I'm not recommending nilstat for long term use, I highly recommend you fix your digestion eventually, through various methods.
