Re: copper IUD

I had the copper IUD for 10 years and had no problems other than heavy periods which was to be expected. I was very regular but on a 21 day cycle. Periods would last 7-8 days with 2-3 days being very heavy right in the middle of those days......would pass clots occasionally. I would have to change super-plus absorbant tampons every few hours and wear a pad as well in case of leakage. I've pretty much always had heavy periods though. I've switched to the merina which I've had for the past 2 months. Losing lots of hair....so not sure what I'm going to do as hormones don't agree with me........ Hate the thought of going back to heavy periods again.
