Re: The reasons I stick with the WD...since 1999.
I can comment on the quality muscle thing..I have put on MORE quality muscle and power while on the warrior diet then I have ever on my old bodybuilding diet. Not only that but I also felt better in general.
The only thing I didn't like was that though I was alot more muscular,I was also my lightest I have ever been.I don't doubt it being very beneficial for detoxification and cleansing because of first hand experience but for me,I just didn't put on enough size for my taste on this diet.I remained amazingly lean and muscular (imagine mass, swelled muscles around defined and toned joints) but I miss being just 'big'.
I got the classic 'spartan' lean and hungry, ripped look but I did miss being 'bulky' just because it felt good to be.As for the eating,I never really felt like I ate enough unless I ate like 2 steaks,2 eggs and a salad or one WHOLE chicken and some raw veggies.I tried horribly to eat more and more just I simply was NOT hungry most of the time and still now I can't really eat too much except if it's large amounts of protein.
My muscular endurance and strength reserve went through the roof, though being ripped I just didn't 'look' terribly strong though I'd be shoulder pressing 160 for reps and curling 100
lbs. lol. It feels good to be hungry but I just didn't get the 'size' I wanted though my strength did go through the roof.Which is surprising because I did it all with a 1/4 of the calorie count though twice the nutrient density.I think people are surprised by how strong I really am though I am not huge lol.
I may go back on the warrior diet,I don't know- going off it for awhile I do miss fasting through the day...
