It is not a bashing of iodine, it is the use of Lugol's etc. In fact, I do not think it is the use of Lugol's if the other minerals are balanced out correctly...

There is more on this if you want to dig through the threads and forum; including the iodine debate forum... it is not the iodine he objects to, it is the amount of iodine versus the needed\available co-factors.
