Excellent points. I appreciate your well-worded post. I have seen this kind of situation in churches, in classrooms and even in relationships. The tyranny of fear is difficult to escape and gives the controller increasing power over the fearful individual.
Consider also the language of the controller. Those who tend to be tyrants use words that tear down instead of build up. Calling people names, accusing them of being incompetant or lacking common sense either enrage or tear down. Those who will not be controlled by a tyrant usually leave the situation. Those who cling to the authority figure accept the negativity and fear "rocking the boat" lest they be brought down even further. Free thinking is discouraged and questioning is forbidden. When this occurs within forums here on Curezone, I avoid the forum, its no use reasoning with people who use fear, intimidation, name calling and judgment to keep control. Of course, that puts me out of the loop a lot of the time.
