Re: Is Water fasting More mental/emotional than physical?

Hi Sarahz. I had the feelings you describe, probably most people do, but just like any addiction the first few days are the hardest and the symptoms get less as you get used to fasting.

Oh sure it's boring and I am really NOT looking forward to starting my next fast in a week or less, because right now I am eating some fantastic fresh fruit and vegetables and a friend has caught me a fresh brown river trout from a local river in Wales which I will prepare and eat today.

I will really miss those foods, and during my first fast I missed all the junk I used to eat. But after a few days I will get used to it, and I won't feel hungry anymore.

So for me I think of it as physical. During the fast I focus on checking my weight (I am fasting for weight loss), noting any physical changes, and reading up on the science. But you could argue it is spiritual. My new found attitude to healthy food comes directly from the fasting experience.
