Education is definitely a very good thing..

I think it behooves all of us to learn about our bodies and how to help ourselves when we have medical needs. There are many things that can help our health that don't involve medication of any sort, conventional or alternative. Eating a healthy diet, getting enough rest, getting enough exercise and reducing our stress levels are all things that can help deal with herpes and many other conditions.

Part of being educated means learning what is safe and effective for a given situation. Sometimes it's a prescr*iption medicine. Prescr*iption meds have been actually tested for safety and efficiacy. Most alternative treatments have not and their claims are most often based on anecdotal testimonials rather than proven science.

In some cases, for example Imulux, a purported herpes "cure", the treatment has been found to have made extravagant, baseless and fraudulent claims and they have been shut down. I've learned that anyone claiming a "cure" for herpes, as in actually removing the virus from a patient's body, should be treated with extreme skepticism.

I'm the one here who has suggested visiting
http://nocureforherpes.com
as I find that it well expresses what my own layman's research has found. I've been around the various Internet herpes sites for a number of years, and in that time have made the personal acquaintance of some of the well respected medical researchers who are involved with the search for new herpes treatments. I believe what they tell me about herpes, how it works, how to treat it, and the prospects for an actual cure any time within the foreseeable future. I believe them because they have years of well documented scientific research, and peer reviewed articles to back that up.

As far as any suppression of discussion of herbal or alternative treatments, I'm not in a position to do that. I am just a regular participant here with no ability to delete or edit anyone else's messages. I post my messages expressing how I see things and all others are welcome to do the same with their views.
