It's partially a blood pH effect. Halogen imbalance results in reduced secosteroid "Vitamin D" availability to the kidney which in turn diminishes the ability of kidney to release bicarbonate to buffer blood, the result being a slightly lower blood pH, usually accompanied by fatigue. If you did a poll of the people who are acidic, you'd see their fingernails have no moons.
