I am not sure what you are confused about really.
plzchuckle is quite right, a mostly westernized diet of processed and adulterated foods is highly acid-forming within the body, and is a precursor for disease, as the body should have a neutral ph or a ph which leans towards the alkaline side. This can be achieved by alkaline-forming foods such as fresh fruit and vegetables.
However, even if you have the very best of diets this cannot compensate for a faulty and/or weakened digestion (brought about by enervating living habits) which results in the putrefaction and fermentation of foods within the digestive system. What Hygienists refer to as autointoxication. Water fasting is the most efficient way of cleansing and healing the body. Mother Natures first choice of health recovery.
If you are unable to eat raw foods very well then I would strongly recommend that you drink the juice of those foods. You will receive all the benefits of the raw food without having to chew at all.
