Re: (warning, gross pics) Please, help again identifying these guys
Hello:
Thank you for reducing those - the pictures that you took are great -- I can really appreciate them. I still think that those could possibly be ascaris. As you mentioned, they are complex beasts. They do have 3 muscle layers which makes them very hardy. Worms can also break into pieces.
I also see what you mean about the ribbon-like, flat worm -- curious, no segments -- but, the black portion could indicate a head/neck like a tapeworm. In the 3rd picture there is something that looks like segmentation of a possible worm or is it broken??
Again, I'm not an expert in identification. I know Humaworm has said on many occasions that when worms come out their appearance can be altered because of them being in the intestinal tract.
I can completely understand and appreciate the mental status and what a person goes through. I've been there. At first, it is difficult to comprehend with horror and then disgust takes over, along with furious cleaning because you want to get rid of them! Although this is hard for you, I think that you are going about this with learning about how infections happen and avoidance. Self-reflection on these matters is a good thing too in understanding how you could've been infected. There are a lot of posts on this forum and on the P Forum about ascaris.
It appears you're doing fine with removal. As much as I and many others would prefer to get rid of parasites immediately, we've all learned that this is certainly neither an overnight matter nor easy.
Whether you're on this forum, the P Forum, or others, we're all here to share and lend support.
Take care
