Re: escape from the belly of the beast - a miracle in the making
its just the beginning, meaning it could still go either way. he has a raging candida(or other fungal) infection. plus the damage to his lungs. i have had to keep a low profile in the hospital for various reasons.
the respiratory therapist taking the readings and adjusting his oxygen down last night was a perfect example of a system all puffed up with itself. i have seen the exact same dynamic with social workers. they take credit for anthing good that happens and take no responsibility and/or blame someone else for anything that goes bad.
i asked him about the turnaround in bill before i left the hospital. he started handing me this line in his best bedside manner(the compassionate pre-emminant) about how the turnaround was due to the earlier adjustment of the c-pap machine - that the numbers were adjusted closer together. someone who was paying no attention at all or completely ignorant of what was happenning would have been duly impressed. what he didnt know(and i didnt let on) was that i had paid full attention to all aspects of their activities and his condition. not only did he not respond so positively to the adjustments before the supplements i gave him, his fabricated story was exactly the opposite of what happened. the adjustments made on the machine widened the gap in the numbers, not narrowed it. the high went from 18 to 20 and the low went from 10 to 7. imagined how freaked out they would be if they knew i was watching them that close. he was such a nice older man with a gray beard too. his momma would have beat his ass for lying like that!
