my bother had a stroke

the doctors say he has a tumor on his heart and they have him down for open heart surgery on Monday. They say some of it broke loose and went his brain, he lost some speech abily and mobily on right side of body, he is 48 yrs old. They also say if they don't operate it will just keep breaking loose and causing more strokes and possible kill him. Am going to see him tommorrow. My gut tells me the surgery is unnessesary but I am the nut case in the family and they would all run me right out I am sure if I suggest he turned down the surgery. What are your thoughts on this people?
