i can relate. when i was a kid we had a garden and the veggies out of that garden were superb!! nothing like what you buy at the store. i remember digging up peanuts and eating the whole thing - shell and nut. and corn on the cob? don't get me started. those sweet peas were still the sweetest peas ever. really, ever single person should have a garden or at least access to one. in russia its common to own a country house with a big garden where families will raise up to %50 - 75% of all the produce they eat. of course it mostly potatoes and beets, not too many greens, but its still good.
