Re: Severe anxiety with Mirena...HELP....major setback right now!

From my experience with the zoloft, WITHOUT a banzo like lorazapam, the zoloft will give you panic attacks. I have been there believe me, I am now 18 weeks post and if you want you can read my long terrible story by clicking on my name. I had to go through 4 anti's before I found one that helped me, it actually is zoloft I am on 12.5mg in the morning and 12.5mg at night with 1mg of klonopin(same thing as lorazapam pretty much) I am not 100% better but I can say I am on my way. The other anti's gave me TERRIBLE panic attacks, I also had panic attacks with the mirena in, but they got worse when I was put on an anti. I did not take well to the anti's at all, I suffered a lot and was sick a lot too, I would consider the anti as possibly causing your panic attacks as well, they did for me. I think the doc gave you both that and lorazapam knowing you may have the panic attacks, make sure you take them together to counteract the side effects from the zoloft until your body gets used to it. That is just the experience I had. Yours may be different, I had panic attacks so bad that I did go to the ER 2x, my hands would clench in fist and not release, my eyes would twitch and my heart would race so bad, I thought at first I was having a heart attack, my hands were numb too. I hope this sheds some light on the situation. I know! why does it have to be the weekend??? you will be ok, my advice is to take the lorazapam too, I know it is highly addictive but that kind of med is only highly addictive 1. if you abuse it, 2. if you are on it for a long period of time. I know where you are in the mirena mess, believe me it will get better, although I still have some bad days I am finally accepting my bad days, they are less frequent. my periods still are not normal, so hopefully I will normalize soon.
