If I had to keep weeding and timing the watering and keep tweaking fertilizer/pest remedies, I wouldn't :-). The rest is easy :-).

In the past I have used Raised Bed, Square Foot, Intensive Organic Gardening with tremendous success. I was able to prove to myself at the same time that, when the plants are healthy, there is very little need for any Pest Control beyond Cayenne, Garlic and Liquid Soap, if even that much.

It's the watering which has been a problem every time I tried Container Gardening- I'd have to go out of town for a few days and the weather would be far too hot with not enough rain, or (like where I am now) the water is over on the wrong side of the house. I have to manually haul it around and then return and re-coil the hose, and it becomes a project to keep *anything* alive in 100F weather without sufficient water at the right time.

The Earth Boxes apparently will end the problem of watering, and with Earthworms in the soil (I'll use Organic Matter so it won't hurt 'em) and lots of mulch on top, I'd probably have to pray to get weeds :-)..

I am serious, the Earthboxes get rave reviews from everyone I have found who has them.

A piece of hard-won advice though: Don't use Terra Cotta pots for Container Gardening unless you seal them first, otherwise they'll wick the water right out of anyything you plant in them..
