Thanks for your posting.

Is it Folliculitis Decalvans? What a great question, because I believe that the FD label is applied to a variety of inflamed scarring allopecia, mostly because the derms themselves dont know what this is.

That would account for the various bacterial and fungal flavours that we all discuss in this forum, and why some treatments work for some and not others. It very well could be that FD is a convenient umbrella label for a variety of diseases that affect the hair/skin in a similar way.

What I have learned from this forum is to keep working with your derm and keep trying treatments until you find one that works for your particular condition.
