Pickling Lime Vs Aquarium Grade Calcium Hydroxide

Just something for people to be aware of. This is referenced on the link to the Moreorless alkanizing drink.

"One could use pickling lime, which is also calcium hydroxide. Unfortunately, pickling lime tends to have visible amounts of impurities in it."
A more pure form of calcium hydroxide would be "kalkwasser" for reef aquarists.

Also when mixing the recipe, be careful to read the safety precautions. 1 Tablespoon of Calcium Hydroxide does not mean 1 Tablespoon of calcium hydroxide powder in the Moreorless alkanizing drink. While the directions clearly state that 1 tablespoon of calcium hydroxide should be diluted in one gallon of water and 1 tablespoon of this be used in the recipe, it may be all too easy for some to get confused when they see the 1 Tablespoon pickling lime water and accidently put 1 tablespoon of the calcium hydroxide powder in the drink. This can represent an overdose and have grave consequences.

It may also be a good idea for one to test their PH on a regular basis if attempting to change the body's PH. Although difficult to do, it is not improbable for one to raise their PH too high and become too alkaline thereby risking shutting the organs down. I would not use the calcium hydroxide water mixture alone. The Moreorless drink calls for the use of Apple Cider Vinegar which is know to balance the PH whether you are too acidic or too alkaline.

Anyway, I think that the use of Calcum Hydroxide is a good idea as is the Moreorless drink, but one should always take any necessary precautions as sometimes in life whether it be liver flushes, driving, working, eating, exercising, etc., not proceeding cautiously can have grave consequences.

P.S. I did not post this to offend anyone. The last thing that I would want to see is someone end up seriously ill, being hospitalized, and ending up dead by incorrecly using calcium hydroxide or accidently overdosing on the stuff. Next thing you know, there would be a major inquiry, it would make the front page of the news and the FDA, authorities, and the medical estabilshment would have a heyday with this as they do not believe in our "unorthodox" ways and are always looking for things to discredit us.

Best Wishes
