Re: Does God Love All the same?
We cannot expect to EVER have, or develop a relationship with God IF we do not have a relationship with ourselves FIRST...
In many ways I find the reference of Jesus in the Bible as an externalizing of an internal journey... a misdirection if you will.
This does not address the questions relating to his identity, or if he ever really existed, especially since "his" story is thousands of years older than him... even Lemuria and Atlantis had similar stories including those of "the twelve"...
I have related to trapper that man has risen and fallen before... at least twice, perhaps many more times... who knows? Is this our lot in life, our "hell", to forever repeat failure? Rising, only to fall, fighting for survival to live and rise and fail yet again?
If the above is true, I hope that those surviving the next fall, are fearless, can topple the powers that be, and can forever teach the true nature of life, returning man once again to Eden. But then I am afraid, the story of Cain and Able will repeat itself once more.
This Pastor Ron Riffe, seems to preach in a way that moves people away from a relationship with oneself, externalizing the "way" or "path", promoting "fear". The "way. or "path" is not an external endeavor... the "way" must be traveled within...
What are people so damn afraid of? Is looking within that terrifying? I would submit, that an internal journey would perhaps be much less fearful for most than an external one.
EVERYONE knows the "way"... the halls are even lighted for us; however many of us have buried and locked the way" so very deep within; underneath many feelings of want, greed, power, revenge, anger, lust, etc. etc. that we must first fearlessly open and deal with each of those issues before finding God.
As Prot said in K-PAX, "Every being in the universe knows right from wrong, Mark"
Every being knows the "way".
I see many who profess to be "Christian", some evangelical, who have not even begun to know who they themselves are; have not begun to face their fears in developing a relationship with themselves. One cannot be "Christian", or any religion for that matter, without first truly developing a relationship with and knowing themselves.
Most everyone today has close relationships with their jobs, friends, things, "fun", the TV, what-have-you, living their lives through them; anything to avoid the reality of a meaningful, developing, growing relationship with themselves... They may even believe they have close relationships with a family member or "friend" when in fact they are living their lives "through" that family member or "friend", deathly afraid of developing a relationship with themselves.
IF, everyone developed and had a "real" relationship with themselves, the current state of things in this world would be much, much different.
We would inherently know the truth... things such as
Genetically-Modified-Organisms foods, chemical roulette, etc. would not exist. Not only would they not exist, they would not even be but a passing thought at most... perhaps a knowing, only to serve as a warning of things that lead to the fall.
Perhaps these warnings have been laid out for us by those who were here before, perhaps they have tried to show us the "way" through various means and methods that we, have not interpreted correctly... or perhaps we have not found all the pieces, or like so many, choose to interpret what we see and read as suits our own desires and needs... Perhaps we chose not to listen or heed.
Eden is out our front doors, hidden from view, by all the "junk" we stash away in our minds, all the fear that holds us back from speaking the truth to those who seek; we have but to "see" it.
I will get into the office tomorrow morning and the superficial, non-relationship committing, banter will be all about the latest "in" shows, the weather, perhaps a perceived injustice, or a sporting event, the loss of a house due to a greed based, get rich quick, purchase during the housing bubble... yep, cultured relationships with everything but ourselves... and others. There will be the chronic complainers, moaners, and the oh poor me individuals oozing out of the woodwork... anything and everything used at their disposal to avoid any personal responsibility for themselves... further distancing them from ever finding their true self. Most ARE living in a "hell" here on earth of their own making...
They do not understand that life is all about "service" to the whole, it is also about relationships... just as every atom, every cell, in the body has a relative relationship and roll to perform, giving of itself, and even dying if necessary for the survival of the whole, so must we.
Perhaps the story of Jesus dying on the cross was just an metaphor for what is expected of us, live for and serve others, dying for them if necessary, IF it is the "right" thing to do. With the understanding that death comes to us all and that life is eternal, what are so many afraid of?
To know oneself is the ONLY way to know, and begin to develop a relationship with God; all that is.
More and more people have even become "afraid" of their own thoughts! Perhaps some of this "fear" is nutritional deprivation and/or chemical/drug induced... perhaps. But we must accept responsibility for letting it happen... for sitting back and allowing it... IF, we, as they, were in a chemical altered stupor, are we now?
People fall asleep with the TV on, or some other distraction, because they are unable to fall asleep fearful of their own thoughts pouring through their mind! They are unable to sit in silence for ANY length of time during the day, fearful of their thoughts, filling the void insatiably with music, TV, work, meetings, on the phone, etc...
Once we can accept, not only who we are, but WHAT we are, we will find God is and within all things. We will find great comfort in our own thoughts and the beauty in the silence of a still, quiet night. We will be able to savor a perfect moment in time and make it last for an eternity.
There is NO one "true" religion... that is a fallacy. It produces the same distancing and separation from God that the classing of people by economics and race, etc. does.
As I said, and I am not the first to say it, not by a long shot, religion keeps us away from a relationship with God.
There are many paths to God, as many paths as there are living beings, as the path to God lies within each of us, sometimes deep within behind many dark chambers that beg to be journeyed through to a distant, beckoning light, Behind locked doors for which, only we alone have the key, and there is no spare. Perhaps there are prisons within our hearts, in which we must sit and serve time, perhaps a long time... are you fearless enough to journey through?
