Another question on joints and fitness
Hey folks,
I've always enjoyed being very physically active. I did karate for years, love to rock climb, hike, enjoy the feeling of running, love to dance, etc. I've worked out for 12 years.
My knees have been a bit of a problem on and off for most of this time. It is a point of frustration b/c I've really tried to up my fitness level so I can feel young and energetic, and once I'm making progress, my knees start feeling more wierd in my day to day life, feeling strain on stairs, popping, etc. I wanted to pick up running since my husband always wanted to have a mate who would keep fit and run with him and I've never been good at it. I was running for 6 weeks then stopped for over 3 months. Of late, I started the P90X program for 3 weeks which I *LOVED* and I had more energy after only 3 days and needed less sleep and felt great and my back was feeling good... then the knees.
So... HELP! I want to be super-sexy-energetic-fun but I stopped the P90X out of concern for my knees. Is there a forum to talk about this kind of thing? Any advice?
