Economic collapse, Global Warming - on purpose

It is just a small group of people, maybe with some religious connections, who WANT the world to end, so it will be purified, etc.

They are, unfortunately, very powerful people. They have managed to arrange to keep global warming emissions from being reduced, and now they have arranged this pending economic collapse.

The idea is that anyone who is strong enough to survive these crisis deserves to live, and the rest shall perish as they should since they are weak.

Personally, I do not agree, as there are many humans who have valuable talents but are not good providers or dandy capitalists, and they will perish. We will end up with a world without music, art, spiritualism, and so on. In a "purifying purge", the human race will lose a lot of good DNA strains.
