speaking of bitter - PAPAYA

http://www.longnaturalhealth.com/library2.asp?A=49

I've learned that the papaya's seeds are edible from the above site (why do we silly people throw away seeds?) - I used to be silly and throw them away, too.

Anyway, got one of those football-sized papaya and scraped all the seeds into a bowl. When I serve up some papaya for myself, I eat a spoonful of the seeds first.

WOW, are they ever BITTER. The site above says they're good for the liver. I believe it...I imagine it's the bitterness that stimulates the liver.

I plan on eating nothing but papaya this whole weekend (I don't always stick to my plans, but I'm working at it).

I also washed it quite well and saved the skins for my skin. We shall see.
