Re: Day 4 fast
Smoothiee, how old are you? If you don't mind me asking.
I'm sure you don't mean that, i'm sure their concern comes from the right place. I'm assuming you have been arguing about not eating. They need to be educated, they are just worried for you.
When i first came across this forum, i just read it because i was curious, and thought it sounded crazy. Then i had my eyes opened.
My husband and i were discussing this yesterday, we both had been brought up believing, you could only a survive a few days without water, and at the most 3 weeks without food. Where that came from, i don't know.
Also, that we have to have 3 or more meals a day. 'You have to have breakfast,' How many times have we eaten, when we are not really hungry, because it is lunchtime, and we are supposed to eat then, aren't we. I often don't feel hungry until ten, eleven o'clock, and used to force breakfast down me because i'd heard it kick started the metabolism, but now i'm going to listen to my body, if it is hungry it will tell me.
We are all brought up with so many untruths. Your parents are probably worried about anorexia, well it probably sounds crazy to them not eating for days.
I now feel privledged that i have found out the truth. I'm in the uk. Waiting lists, dirty hospitals, obesity rates growing all the time, drug pushers that call themselves doctors. I have found a way to hopefully avoid all that, and it is so simple.
You really need to educate them, and not fight them. Ask them to read the books, websites etc, before they judge what you are doing. If you shut them out, their anxiety will increase, as it appears furtive, secretive, and in their minds you are probably doing something not good for you.
Think of it this way, your dad would not bother to argue with you if he didn't love you.
