Re: Day 5 of refeeding after my 10 days fast:)Sunbathing
Hello bling,
"Chris, does sunbathing count if you use commercial sunscreens",
YOU ARE QUITE RIGHT BLING: SUNSCREENS DO BLOCK THE ACTION OF SUNLIGHT ON THE SKIN AND THEREFORE THE PRODUCTION OF THE HORMONE PRECURSOR, WHICH THE BODY THEN MANUFACTURES INTO VITAMIN D3 (CHOLECALCIFEROL). THIS HAS BEEN SHOWN TO PREVENT UP TO 77% OF ALL CANCERS. SUNBATHING WILL PROFOUNDLY BENEFIT THE NERVOUS SYSTEM.
"i burn easily, and with the ozone problem, it could be a bit risky going without."
I PERSONALLY THINK THE OZONE "PROBLEM" FOR SUNBATHERS IS NOW A WORN-OUT CLICHE AND NOT SOMETHING TO BE OVERLY CONCERNED ABOUT.
BURNING IS A SIGN OF OVER-EXPOSURE. CURRENT ADVICE, AS IT WAS IN SHELTONS DAY, IS TO BUILD-UP SLOWLY, WITH LIMITED EXPOSURE TO BEGIN WITH, WHICH IS WHAT I DO EVERY SUMMER..............

"I plan to try coconut oil this year, but not sure if it will work okay, and give enough protection. I know my brother used to use it, but he is olive skinned, and just used to tan, whereas i'm fair skinned."
NOT TOO SURE OF THE BENEFITS OF COCONUT OIL WHILE SUNBATHING, BUT HERE I THINK IS SOME VERY GOOD ADVICE................

"The trouble is sunscreens don't allow the vit D synthesis, as far as i'm aware."
THAT IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE BLING.
"I suppose the best way would be short bursts of sunbathing, using no sunscreen."
AGAIN. VERY TRUE (A FAIRLY COMMON VIEW OF SUNBATHING.)
HOW NOT TO SUNBURN ?
ONLY MAD DOGS AND ENGLISHMEN SIT OUT IN THE MIDDAY SUN!!!
Regards
