Re: Does metal kill friendly bacteria?

You make some good points.

MD - "Fact is minerals, or metals, are required for the body to work properly, in all body functions! To suggest that metals harm bacteria is silly because without minerals/metal in our body there would be NO LIFE!"

grz - I agree with you on this... with the caveat that there must be balance.

MD - "The fear factor on minerals is over blown and more harmful in the long run because people who read these statements go overboard and begin to avoid too many health promoting foods, such as fish (mercury contamination), fruits and veggies (for fear of pesticides) & water (chlorine & flouride)."

grz - I agree with this as well... fish also is rather high in selenium which can cancel the mercury out IF, the fish is otherwise healthy. I still would choose wild caught cold water fish over anything else... and the smaller fish like sardines.

A great many people are unaware that our generally high refined salt diet, as part of SAD, in the states, most likely has been a blessing in disguise when it comes to the increases in bromine exposure... just read emergency medical documents on chemical exposures... sodium chloride is the antidote to bromine issues internally or on the skin; magnesium and calcium chloride would also work.

It is also possible, after studying these emergency medical documents on chemical exposures that the focus on calcium has prevented more fluoride issues than there has been for those that take calcium as calcium is the antidote for flouride poisoning... in some documents, one will find reference to magnesium oxide and hydroxide as well... but oral ingestion and retention is a little more tricky with the magnesium.

MD - Suddenly everyone is consuming acidic distilled water (which lacks any minerals), and afraid to eat all foods---then they are jumping from one protocol to the next trying to heal what ails them, which is simply what they are lacking in nutrition. This is when they get really sick, but call it detox. It is a sad cycle.

grz - I think that, given no other choice (tapwater), I would distill my water these days. I use R/O water now, however will put a tablespoonful of limewater, an 1/8 teaspoon of Epsom Salt, and a bit of potassium chloride. Alternatively, I will put 1/8 teaspoon of my edible clay in it. I have been playing/experimenting with distilled water since December. I also think that making nutritional teas and fresh, homemade fruit juices using distilled water could make the nutrition/minerals in the drinks more available to the consumer. Some people do distill and then restructure their water through various means. I think this restructuring, could be beneficial...

Another thought deals with evolution/adaptation. Man has stirred the pot and the world is polluted... we must "adapt" or succumb and get sick/die. Those that can best adapt to the environment, will have children who are even better capable of living in a polluted environment. Those that cannot OR choose to fight adaptation and be as internally clean as possible, and then do not adapt, had better raise their kids to do the same or they may have very real problems.

grz-
