Wow, Molly, what an experience!

I saw a demonstration of Raindrop Therapy, using Young Living Essential Oils, layered, in turn, on the back of a young woman who came in on crutches, with her friends.

Of course, every modesty was observed, and the scents rose and wafted through the room, soothing all the 100 folks who were there. (Even the carrying case of the speaker, which held hundreds of bottles of scents, was wonderfully uplifting from the get-go.)

The lecture was warm, and of great interest, but the demonstration was riveting...real.

An odd thing happened. The young woman became ill during the process, and had to leave for the washroom.

When she returned, she told us that she felt fine...better.

The speaker pointed out that sometimes the oils cause a 'cleansing' effect.

Your observation that they may have reminded your husband of deeply-buried childhood feelings is important, too, I think.

We may not always recognize all the things that are influencing how we feel.

Somehow I have come to trust Young Living's qualities of their 'products', and not just from their literature.

A simple proof...

I cut the end of an index finger, deeply, almost to the bone. I then pressed hard on the cut with my thumb, and reached for their lavender oil.

One drop directly on the cut did not hurt, in any way, and did not bleed. I promptly forgot about the injury, and went on with my work. Two or thre days later I noticed the cut had nearly vanished...and there is no sign of it today.

I'd like to point out that there are two kinds of 'lavender oil', plus the possibility that either of them may be 'cut'...diluted with something else.

The lavender oil I want comes from the original plants, not hybridized...their seeds sprout into new plants. Plus, the oil I want was processed in the appropriate 'slow' manner.

'Lavendin' comes from hybridized plants, and the seeds will never sprout.

Only a 'nose' can tell the difference in the finished oils. A 'nose' is a person who has trained themselves for maybe twenty years. They can tell the quality of every component. These people are extremely important to the perfume industry. There are only about 150 in the world, and most of them reside in France.

Beyond all 'advertising' and books, I am drawn to exceptional essential oils. There is something magical in them.

I was once given a single rose from a bush chosen for its fragrance. (There are certain roses used as 'therapeutic'.)

I put it in water in my kitchen, and the whole house was fragrant.

A nebulizer (fine spray) is excellent, but even one drop on a bit of cotton works wonders.

A drop of lavender oil on your pillow is said to banish snoring. Don't know. Humaworm worked for me.

Maybe a person could pick their best oils, right now, from a printed list. That's something I'd like to test.

Good for you for noticing!

F.
