Re: Beginning a longer water fast

If you have existing skin problems, or are susceptable to them, you may well get a flareup during fasting. This could be quite a large flareup in some circumstances but it won't last for very long usually. During a fast the body repairs such things very quickly. Bad breath is just a given for most of us. Some seem to have some success keeping their breath acceptable by brushing the tongue when they brush their teeth though, and some use bicarb as well. (avoid toothpaste or anything that will stimulate the taste buds)

The worst symptoms I've faced and some here too is the nausea. I personally think it is from junk food toxins myself. I had no nausea to speak of during my first long fasts when I wasn't eating junk food, but suffered seriously from it this time around. Chocolate and soft drinks! Thankfully I crave them no more. :) A lot depends on your previous diet, and your body makeup in general, and also maybe how you think your fast will progress too- all these things can effect how difficult a time you will have of it.

Good luck!

Andrew.
