Re: Conflicting EFT sayings
I thought exactly the same thing while watching the videos. And I think the answer is that the core emotion is the same whether you're taping on it negatively or positively.
Tapping on "I know I can become wealthy and provide abundantly for my family" might be based on the underlying negative fear/gut emotion of "I feel like a failure that will never get anywhere in life."
Tapping on either can be effective, but I tend to focus on the negative because it has more a more gut emotional resonance which tends to make EFT more effective. In fact my belief is that the reason the positive works is because just as we say them the little voice of doubt is there in our minds which is what the EFT is actually working on. In other words, even when were doing positive affirmations, we're actually working on the limiting belief instead. Just my opinion, but for this reason I believe that naming the negative fear directly is the more potent method, as it seems to be for me.
Repeating negative aphorisms is counter intuitive and counter anything we're taught about self improvement. But ultimately if you find a way to hush those negative thoughts, the positive thinking, greater self esteem and greater productivity will manifest and take care of themselves - and at light speed!
