Re: Glucose Tolerance Test - Doctor not found

I thank you for posting the message again. I am glad to hear that you got your daughter tested. Is possible to share the results? What kind of diet did they suggest?
My daughter started having problems after she was on her own in first year of college. Then she told us that she cannot get up from bed and cannot study. We knew something was very wrong. Then she just stopped telling us anything because she felt that we would worry and/or scold her. Finally her college dean wrote to us to go and meet her. She told us that she sounds like she is depressed and we need to take her home because she is very sick also suggested that we take her to a therapist. We got a good therapist, but she was not feeling well. I started posting about her condition on CZ and a man named Jurian Plesman from Australia suggested that I read his book and he sent me one for free by email. He basically told me his life history and how he became a pyscho-nutritionist. I believed him right away, because my daughter showed signs of this condition since she was 7. she could not stay hungry at all, she would be totally energyless and then few times she fainted. at that time we did not make a big thing. She also had allergies of all kinds.
In college basically she binged on all junk foods all day everyday, sleepless nights studying, partying etc, you know the drill. This got her in huge ditch.
Then I read two books on Hypoglycemia, I was convinced. My wife and daughter both are not convinced toatlly, because they only beleive in what the doctors say.
Good thing is she quit Lexapro (anti-depressant) because she figured out it did not help her. Luckily she has no side effects that we can see right now. I asked her to do the detox, but she thinks it is all hocus pocus. I have at least sold her on getting the GTT done. One step at atime.
I got my blood glucose meter from One-Touch yesterday. Hopefully she will do the test regulary to find out when she spikes down in her blood
Sugar and we will geta diet designed for her.
Thank you. Sorry for the long story. I hope that it helps many other people who read this and they do not go thru' what we go thru' everyday.
