I remember at one time I was looking into the bible
reading it from cover to cover, more from a historical prespective but as always in my reading to gain spiritual insight.
I remember my husband and I had been having difficulty for some years on and off ( what else is new?;}) and I read the passage about the wife defering to her husband, in other words he's the boss, and I thought mostly that he was a large child- a teenager-
and this delighted me in our relations ship but taxed me since he was not a very good "back up" with the childcare and all the duties and chores that are involved with the kids,
So for about 2 weeks I made him the boss, not telling him that I was doing so, just allowing him- and more and more he stepped up to the plate...not with the kids (darn) but with the bills and running the household matters.
I was surprised it was so effective, so if all things are equal in other areas, then I'd encourage him by allowing him to be the boss and if the space is created they seem - or he did- to step into it.
They also will not be consistent at all times. And they will need to be loved in private as a man and a boy...there seems to be no man without the boy
