Getting stonewalled from someone who has clearly stated that they will & want to get in touch with you is VERY frustrating & even hurtful.
The person who does it flat out lied.
I'd rather be insulted & rejected than lied to.
I feel that someone who does that does not have much of value to offer me in a close relationship anyways. I'll gladly let someone else have them, but between wondering(worrying) if he is OK, or misplaced my number..., & finally realizing, a few weeks later, when it is a bit more obvious that the person lied to me, it's quite hurtful.
Truthfulness is the foundation of all human virtues.
If a person lies to me about something so easily dodged, or redirected, that person will lie about serious things, & probably lie to himself. "You made me hit you." or "You NEVER listen to me."
That's the wonderful thing about being truly honest, just & truthful. It helps a person to break outside of their own internally accepted lies, which most have to some extent, more or less.
For those so inclined to lie to another, consider just saying "I'm not the one for you, but I enjoyed such & such." & name an event/feature that you liked. Tweet
