SS, that's what I was going to say too, intervention. You also remember what it was like, too afraid to say it out loud? Too afraid to leave because you have been broken down. You are broken.

How do you fix a woman who is broken? Only the woman can begin the repair. How does a woman want to repair herself? Where does the desire come from? It can be self preservation, and that's only after some major event. But what on earth would spur this on?

The child.

How do you get a woman to get out of the denial mode? Fear for their child. There are statistics out there that an abusive husband will eventually abuse their children.

Intervention. Who can do this? A local volunteer at a women's shelter. Someone experienced in this. Also, someone she can run to when she finally gets it? Right?

I would set it up so that this person was there next time she came over, and every time she came over. But boy, it has to be played right. Perhaps the volunteer, and a woman who is in the shelter too. A discussion about experience can ensue. It can be staged pretty well by Mom. I think...needs some thought, some work.

I so want her to save her daughter. Had my Mom only known. But of course I wasn't allowed to see my parents during that marriage for 10 years.

Bummer. Just a brain storm.
