It's the drug company lawyers that keep the status quo no doubt. The fact that millions can die each year from both correctly and incorrectly diagnosed medications of all types and nothing is done about it proves that.

And one of the weird things about medications is that they can and often do create the opposite effect intended and actually cause the problems they are meant to be 'curing', or make them worse as the case may be.

Just one example:

ZOLOFT WARNING: Risk of suicide, self-harm, behavioural/emotional changes

I was once prescribed zoloft and given a packet to take home and get me started. I was told not to come back until I had been on it for at least a week, because the gp told it he wouldn't bother talking to me until then. Too bad if I never made it back at all, he obviously considered the risk of living with Depression worse than the risk of suicide and self-harm as he was quite able to prescribe it to me without explaining any of the risks involved.

I wouldn't last a second in court with only facts like these to back me up, that doesn't make them any less valid.
