No. I am saying that saliva pH usually only fails when things get very seriously acid. It is made to be alkaline and is somewhat regulated to be alkaline. Saliva needs to be alkaline in order for its enzymes to work correctly.

While an alkaline condition in the blood is also critical if it it too high, this is not true of saliva. The regulation and requierments of the two are different.
