Thanks Zoebess, I read the wikipedia and found a part that caught my eye. I may have to check it out a little further. There was a section called "Similar incidents" which stated, In April 2007, it was reported[5] that high-school students in Waxahachie, Texas who were participating in a role-playing exercise fell into a similar abusive pattern of behaviour as exhibited in the original experiment.
My niece goes to high school there and I get a newspaper from that town also. I'm not sure why I never heard of it.
I care how prisioners are treated but I also care about their caregivers. I guess I can't help looking at it from the other angle somewhat because I have loved ones that are in the military, police, government, health care and politics. I hear the stories of what they are up against.
Too many abuses are going on but we must care enough about "all" people (caregivers included) to find a solution to giving them the help, resources and training they need. Researching why abuse happens is a good start but will they really find the answer?
In my opinion, sensitivity training starts at home. Letting the government be mommy/daddy in teaching right/wrong or compassion has never been my first choice but what are we to do if people do not "train a child in the way he should go"? Teaching our children early on to love and have compassion and respect for people will stick, "and when he is old he will not turn from it."
Human respect is severely lacking everywhere we look.
