Re: Mirena the cause for hormonal imbalance?

Thank you all so much for sharing your stories. I am sitting here in tears. I have had the Mirena for almost two years, and suffered from increased migraines, depression, weight gain (which NOTHING I do -- even starving myself -- will take off), quickness to anger, and even hair loss. I asked my doctor to remove it nine months ago, and he told me that the hormone levels in Mirena were so low that it could not possibly be causing my problems and put me on Prozac instead. Needless to say, the antidepressent has done nothing for me, and I felt like I was losing my mind.

Why don't the doctors have the information that is being shared here? I guess the pharm. corps. are really that powerful. It just makes me so sad that my doctor, who supposedly cares for women, did not listen to me.

I am calling first thing in the morning to make an appointment to get this THING removed. Maybe my marriage and family can get some sort of normalcy back. Thank you all again --
