I would have to agree with the points you've brought up. I would be curious to see a correlation between murderers,their upbringing, and their mother's/parent's life situation.
I'm pro-choice and against the death-penalty, but I can certainly respect those that have conflicting views. Both issues are NOT black and white.
The death penalty scares me because the justice system is so flawed and innocent people will sometimes suffer the consequences. I believe for that reason alone it shouldn't exist. Also, as previously mentioned, the death penalty is not economically sensible and it sends a conflicting message. I feel that violent institutions perpetuate a violent social consciousness.
That said (and here is where I feel conflicted,) I think that criminalizing abortion would be a step in the wrong direction.
