DIY Norwalk - Champion or Blender?

I am planning on making a DIY norwalk juicer with a 6 ton shop press.

my quesiotn is, what do you think would be more efficient for the titrating stage? a blender or a champion juicer?

i lean toward a high power blender like vitamix because it would be real easy and fast.

but someone has said that the champion would press the fiber more efficiently and prepare it better for being pressed than a blender would. the champion, on the grind setting, would really squeeze the fiber, while the blender would just cut it.

any thoughts on this? thanks.
