Re: Puppy Dog is EATING MY COUCH!!!

As you see you got a lot of good advice. I make a sound like Invincible like, oh I don't know how to write it, it sounds heee, but a short e.
I do that and he reacts right away, I learned it in dogschool, but after watching Cesar Milan he does it all the time.
He seems to be daily on the Nat.Geographic channels with reruns. I watch Friday night because often they have new progrms. I am talking about the US.

As far as crates my husband and I were so against it, poor dog :), till I started reading about it, they are den animals and love it. Since our dog is over 13 we don't use it anymore but we used to have it out he just liked resting in it.

I told my daughter to crate train her dog, and it has worked out very well. He stays with us or at her brother's house often and he loves to be in his own crate.
If he was not crate trained she probably would have to have him kenneled when they are away. Now he is with loving family and during the night we tell him we are going to bed and he goes by himself in the crate. Our dog is already on our bed and his cousin would have taken over.

My daughter works too and started with a crate but now he is older he has the run of the house. They did not believe in it, but we are getting older and I told her we will dog sit anytime but we like the option of the crate. The dog does not realize how lucky he is, he has never been in a kennel and when he is at our son's house he brings him over to our house since we have 2 acres fenced in and can run around and feels at home because he knows our house.
This is happening right now because we are not home since we spend our winters in FL.
