I always told him that he would have a bigger chance of his brothers or friends who could benefit from things he advised them to do to come around and be open if he stopped being so critical and forceful.

Furthermore, he has EXPECTED them to be resistent anywyas and that alone is reason why he doesn't succeed. But when I told him that, he would get very defensive! :-)
