Re: Still no sound, by MH
Drivers are all correctly installed according to the computer and updates/helps etc.
It is a common problem and the solution is as simple as finding the page that says click here to reinstall the sound, there is no need to eter the bios, but it is probably a way to do it manually. It can be done automatically, the page does exist, but I can't find it a second time and everyone that stops by gets a try and they give up 90% faster than I did, this leads me to believe people just throw their computers away and buy new ones.
It is this simple:
NO SOUND CARD from the factory.
Bios and windows not connected as far as sound goes, something needs to tell the bios to supply the sound, because the factory computers lack the sound card. I can put a sound card on this computer and have instant sound, I did it for the same problem 10 years ago with a HP, I am sure best buy could fix it in about 2 minutes after they took $65 for setting the computer on the counter. It is an extremely SIMPLE thing, something someone that knows why the sound turns off when you reboot, would know the instant cure.
I could care less about sound except for being a computer for the kids games and being such a computer, it is not worth spending $85 on a sound card, when you know it already has good enough sound.
