Re: Soap and Hair Washing
Hi Chris,
I enjoy using oils on my hair although I usually
just oil my hair and put on of those cheap clear
shower caps which are disposal on for half the day
so it can soak in and then wash it out at some point.
I have read or listened to testimony of people who
have allowed their own hair oils to "do their thing"
and tried it one week. I did get past the point of
the hair oil looking dull and gross but my hair
looked gross to me and so I did not care for that
sort of stone-age lack of soap look. I do however
really like the way oiling my scalp makes my head
feel and would recommend it. I have used emu oil,
castor oil, and coconut oil the most. I tried olive
and carrot but did not care for that. I would assume
almond would be a fine choice. It makes a good\
carrier oil for essential oils so its the carrier
oil you would be looking for, not the essential oil.
I have only taken cold showers rarely and that was
generally bathing in a mountain stream out of
necessity and washing my hair with ice water also
for the same reason. What I prefer to do now is to
take a sitz bath. If you use the Curezone search
engine or google sitz bath, you should be able to
find a lot of info. The way I do it, is to take
a hot soak in a tub and then, using the hand held
shower, I sit on the edge of the tub, or in the
tub, and allow the cold water to run on my skin
between my belly button and my bum. At first it
was not something my body liked, so I added a little
hot water until gradually now I can use cold water
immediately and my body recognizes it as healing
and not as shocking. MH's forum would also be a good
place to go and search in his forum only using the
search engine for sitz bath. His forum is under
the Ask Barefoot. I have also used a sitz bath to
stop an intense detox reaction cold (pun intended).
One way another poster, Trapper, has sitz bathed
was to soak in the sun until he got hot hot hot,
and then using the garden hose, did a sitz bath
outside. I thought this was inventive and also
would accomplish the reaction of drawing the blood
down through the core.
Best wishes,
Zoe
