MSM is a nutritional form of sulfur used by the body for many things. Also good for allergies as it will remove foreign proteins, toxins from the body.

As far as the doctor goes. They can be very useful at diagnosing If they have you for days but usually they just glance at you and fill a prescription. If it's too serious sometimes you just don't have a choice. If it seems like it's clearing up I wouldn't go but who knows you might get them to scrape some off and find out exactly what it is. It could be something like a shingle outbreak. If you know exactly what you have it's easier to form a strategy against it.
