I'm guessing then that during that first 3 years you took the lower dose, you were not activating but letting your own HCL activate? That is good news. Because in some cases, like my dad, he is not well enough physically or mentally to make his own. Right now someone is always there to make it for him. But he could just use the drops without activating in water when we either want to give it to him twice a day or up the amount so much that it tastes bad. He can be picky, and stuff we might put up with he may not. And animals also would not drink the pre-activated.

I will still activate mine, but I thank you for letting us know it isn't useless in that form, but instead very effective as well.
