Could it be that the pulsing is causing the body to rid itself of the parasites and hence the occurance of the shingles in more severe form?

Immunity is increase from the SP and CS, so it is possible that your immune system is waking up and becoming more sensitiv to both critters.

My favorite way to tell is to take a short duration anti-histamine (4hr) and see how I feel. If all symptoms appear gone then I know its the immune system beginning to do its job.
