Someone on the old smoking thread mentioned an electronic cigarette. He went by a number --801-something?? Anyway, I googled it as he suggested and sure enough under "electronic cigarette" there are several choices. I ended up ordering one from Crown7 I haven't received it yet. But, basically, it is a cigarette shaped device that has a nicotine liquid cartridge that has a tobacco flavor. It contains 2 lithium batteries that heat up a coil when you smoke it. It emits a vapor that looks like smoke, but it isn't--just a quickly dissipating vapor that is harmless. It also has a red led light at the end that lights up when you smoke it.

I am not sure if nicotine is the component that calms your condition down. But, if it is maybe this would be your answer. There is nothiing about it that is negative for your health. Nicotine is a stimulant, but it is not carcinogenic or poisonous in any way that I know of. I just emailed the forum member who mentioned it. He may give us some more info. If not, I can after I try it.
